History

It was the 1800s, somewhere in Maine. The Magrath family, descendants of the Titus family, had a large farm, and practiced magic. One of their children, Parker, was proficient in weather magics. He was visited by a woman named Tituba, who happened to host an Earth Elemental, a guardian spirit, charged with protecting the entire continent.

Tituba had been around since the 1600s, and was weary of the wandering and life. Nagadan had seen promise in Parker, and had chosen him to be his successor. Parker accepted. By 1937, he began operating publicly in Paragon City, under the heroic name 'Bedrock Bones.' By the end of World War II he was the founding member of the Watchwarders.

He met Vivian Mallory in the 1950s, They married soon after.

Parker retired from heroing in 1976 after a debacle between heroes and governments that nearly led to nuclear war.

After that, Vivian soon grew gravid with child. And lightning frequently "visited" her over the course of her gestation. Not a storm would go by without her being struck by at least one bolt, if not more. Parker was beside himself - even with his command over the storms, he felt helpless. While in labor, she was struck by the largest bolt - she did not survive it.

He named the child Egan, a family name. The poor, stuttering boy was a natural conductor and generator of electricity. He crackles with power - sometimes it is deadly, other times it is just unpleasant. but he cannot turn it off. even his father has to turn himself to stone to pick him up and hug him.

Parker decided to resume heroics after losing his wife.

Defiant

Five years after returning to the Watchwarders, Parker rescued a young child in Kings Row from the circle of Thorns, who were poised to sacrifice him. They had already sacrificed his parents.

Seeing somewhat of himself (and his son) in this young man, named Craig Mason, Parker decided to take him in. This gave the developing child Egan a playmate and, in some senses, a brother.

Eventually, Parker and Nagadan decided that Craig was a superb candidate for passing along the mantle of being the protector. Parker was growing weary, and ready to retire.

Craig has registered as a hero, using the name of the elemental, Nagadan. While retired, Parker continues to act as a mentor and guide to Craig - and also to his son, who has also registered as a hero.

Liberty

Because the children of Damain Titus were murdered, Parker Magrath never existed.

Pinnacle

After returning to the Watchwarders, Parker met Bunny Mistell at a party. She was a superhero groupie, and somehow managed to enchant him. She filled the hole that Vivian left behind. When he found out she was pregnant, he stopped seeing her entirely. He still blamed himself for the storms that killed Vivian.

Bunny managed to survive without a single lightning strike, giving birth to a beautiful baby girl - Tawny Mistell. Tawny never learned her father's identity, but Parker remained involved. He acted as an uncle figure, trying to be involved without letting her know he was her father. He also ensured Bunny was well-provided for.

Having a 'normal' child led Parker to neglect his son, Egan. This Egan's childhood was far from perfect.

One day after the Rikti War, Parker met a young man in Kings Row who shone with the sort of light that he did. This man's name was Sean Westerly. He offered Sean the same deal that Tituba offered him. Sean considered it briefly before accepting it.

It was on the way home, in Kings Row, that Parker was rolled and killed by a thug named Craig Mason. An ignoble end for such a hero.

Now, there is a villain using the name Bedrock Bones. Of course, that's absurd - Parker Magrath is dead and buried. Those who remember the old guard take exceptional offense at this pretender. This new Bedrock Bones does not command the Earth - he only wields it in anger, wrapping it around his body in protection, and using it as his fists.

Sometimes, an empty body becomes the vessel for something else. There are spirits out there, opportunists, some vengeful. And a body that was once a vessel for something more powerful is always an attractive treat. Parker Magrath once commanded the Earth, protecting its people. Now his broken body is home to something else, something that enjoys perverting his once-good name.

Virtue

Because the children of Damain Titus were destroyed, Parker Magrath never existed.
